Sarah Sanders Just Beat Out Elizabeth Warren for Huge Honor

Jim Acosta, eat your heart out.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders is detested by the mainstream news media she duels with nearly every day, while the self-promoting Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts is treated like liberal royalty.

But when regular Americans are asked their opinions, the results can be surprising.

In the fifth annual poll by the international political survey firm YouGov, the spirited White House spokeswoman beat the Bay State liberal on a list of most-admired American women.

Sanders was No. 9. Warren was No. 13 — not even a Top 10 showing.

Not bad at all for Sanders, a woman whose job basically involves antagonizing some of the most powerful special interests in the country.

After all, Sanders is so loathed by liberals that “Saturday Night Live” opened its 2017-18 season with a sketch attacking her along with President Donald Trump.

The Sanders-Warren rankings were among the most notable on YouGov’s “most admired” lists for 2018, which included separate categories for men and women on the bases of global and national recognition.

Do you think Sarah Sanders is more admirable than Elizabeth Warren?

The other rankings aren’t all that surprising. They tend to reflect immense wealth and celebrity — Microsoft founder and world’s richest man Bill Gates topped the world’s men’s list. Actress Angelina Jolie topped the world’s women.

And the liberal bent is clear – former President Barack Obama is No. 2 on the results globally and No. 1 in the United States. (Trump scored at No. 2 in the U.S. and No. 17 globally.)

The others on the list are instantly recognizable celebrities without much in the way of actual accomplishment. After Jolie, Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey made up the top three women globally, which says a lot about the power of celebrity and not much about what each woman has actually done besides be famous in an adoring media climate.

But Sanders doesn’t have that kind of positive press — and that makes her presence on the list a huge, unexpected honor.

Of course, she’s in the public eye on a regular basis, but that’s mainly because she’s tussling with a hostile White House press corps — like CNN’s Acosta — that seems to have mistaken its job of covering the presidency with acting as an arm of the opposition Democrat Party.

Meanwhile, Warren has been lionized by a mainstream media on the lookout for the next “first woman president” after their last nominee for the job ended up tanking so miserably 2016.

Yet she couldn’t top Sanders in a rigged game like this?

For a pilloried White House press secretary like Sanders, scoring No. 9 on a national survey like this is winning big against a stacked deck.

For a liberal like Warren, endlessly feted by the mainstream media, the results had to be hard to take.

And for mainstream media blowhards like Acosta, who spends his working life trying to trip up Sanders but generally end up embarrassing himself, the list was a kind of personal humiliation.

Eat your heart out, Jim.
